Kindred: The Embraced

Anyone remember a show on fox which aired during the mid 90's called Kindred: The Embraced? There were only 2 short seasons but it had to be one of the best shows ever! It was based on the roleplaying game Vampire: The Masquerade. Set in modern day San Francisco, it centered around different familes of vampires, each with their own defining personalities and features, not unlike crime families. The main character was Julian Luna, a Ventrue vampire who ran the local vampire clan. I really can't do this show justice with my half-assed synopsis, but it was sheer genius. Worst of all, season 2 left of on a major cliffhanger (which they so often do) and that was it, no season 3, no sequel or follow-up movie, nothing. It's been 13 years and I'm still wondering what happened, and still pissed off. I don't know if the show is available on DVD or not, however I was able to download every episode online. If you are a fan of the whole vampire subculture thing I highly recommend this show. Be warned, however, by the end of season 2 you will be so into the show you are going to be seriously disappointed by the abrupt end. I was so frustrated when the show ended, I actually ran out to my local bookstore and picked up several books on Vampire:The masquerade just to learn more about it. Even though I've never actually played the game. I would give anything for this show to come back!
