Batman: Dark Knight

What did everyone think of Batman: Dark Knight (if you have seen it). If you haven't seen it, how many are looking forward to seeing it and how do you think it will be?

I saw it last night and although it was good, I didn't quite expect it to last as long as it did...we showed up for the 9:55 show and we didn't leave the theater until 12:40, but I didn't pay attention to how many minutes were used up due to previews.

Awesome movie! I am continually impressed by Christian Bale as Batman. Being a Tim Burton fan, my favorite batman movies have always been Batman (1989) and Batman Returns (1992). Nothing beats Michael Keaton as Batman, however Christian Bale has definately proven himself as a close contender for the pointy-eared crown. I don't even count any Batman movies aside from the two aforementioned and the two most recent ones. The big thing everyone is talking about regarding the Dark Knight is of course the late, great Heath Ledger. I admit I thought all the hype about his portrayal of the Joker was due to his recent untimely demise, however after seeing the movie I was totally blown away! He does such an amazing job playing the joker, it gave me chills. Rather than the campy, colorful carnie-like gangster the joker has always appeared as before, Ledger approaches the role from that of a psychotic, deranged, makeup-wearing serial killer. I loved it! The ending was a little drawn out. they couldve really compacted the last 20 minutes into a 5 minute synopsis and it would've served the same purpose. The credits on movies do seem to be getting longer as the years go by. I don't personally mind because I enjoy the credits, but it does add quite a bit to the run time.
